Applicability
This Policy applies to all visitors making use of the Practice’s premises and services.
In this document, ‘visitor’ means patients, their family, other visitors, and contractors. Employees are not part of this, as the Equal Opportunities Policy for Staff protects them.

Will promote equality of opportunity between men and women.
We will not tolerate discrimination or harassment towards any visitor due to their sex, race, colour, religion, beliefs, nationality, age, ethnic origin, marital status, civil partnership, disability, sexual orientation, or gender re-assignment.
We will offer the same treatment and services to all visitors. This includes the ability to register with the practice, no matter their sex, race, colour, religion, beliefs, nationality, age, ethnic origin, marital status, civil partnership, disability, sexual orientation, or gender re-assignment.
Procedure for Patients to follow:
Discrimination by the Practice against you
If you feel discriminated against:
You should bring the matter to the attention of the Office Manager.
The Office Manager will examine the issue closely and keep it confidential. She’ll get in touch with you to share what she finds.
The Office Manager will find out the facts and decide if discrimination occurred. We will inform you of the investigation's outcome.
If you're not happy with the outcome, please make a formal complaint using the Practice’s Complaints Procedure.
Discrimination against the practice's staff
The Practice won’t allow any discrimination or harassment of its staff by visitors.
Any visitor who discriminates or harasses staff will be asked to leave the Practice right away.
If the visitor is a patient, they may be removed from the Practice’s list if this behaviour happens more than once.
