Period Delay Medication
From the 15th of October 2024, the practice will no longer be issuing medication to adult patients who wish to delay their period for the purpose of festivals, travel or sport.
If you would like to postpone your period, you can visit a pharmacy website and order the medication privately from them.
You will need to fill in a questionnaire about your general health and medication which takes about 10 minutes. If they prescribe Norethisterone, you will be informed about the possible risks and side effects associated with this medication.
After this the pharmacy will either post the tablets to your home or allow you to collect the tablets at a local branch where they may also check your blood pressure. Prices range from £14 - £40 depending on how long you wish to delay your period.
